When it comes to family activities, There are so many different ways that we can bond in terms of family activities. For myself, I love just to sit down with my parents and watch movies together. It is a very simple, yet relaxing activity that brings us together, giving us moments to laugh, talk, and just enjoy each other’s company. Sometimes, if I want to connect on a deeper level, I make sure that I get one-on-one time with my mum or dad. In these moments of personal connection, which I hold dear, we can strengthen our relationship and better understand each other.
I want to dedicate this blog post to my wonderful and amazing parents, who have shaped my life in ways I can never fully express.
My relationship with my parents has not always been smooth. I didn’t understand in the past what role they played in my life. Sometimes I didn’t know what it meant to appreciate them. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realise just how important they are to me. Now, when I look at my parents, I do so as if they are the best, though not perfect—except for God; nobody is perfect except Him. They have made mistakes, like everyone else does, but that hasn’t changed the love they have for me and the lessons they’ve taught me.
With time, I started to regard them not only as parents but also as mentors, teachers, and the biggest supporters in my life. They have been very instrumental in shaping my personality, teaching me about life, and showing me how to treat other people with love, respect, and patience. It is from them that I have learned the value of love and the importance of standing by each other through thick and thin.
I have learned that parents are indeed very important in our lives. Without them, I just can’t imagine what my fate would be. They made me a better person; and taught me to fight for life, believe in myself, and never lose my faith. Without them, I don’t know where I’d be, lost in the dark, uninformed about how to live life and how to understand myself as a woman. Through the guidance of all of them, I have learned the importance of family, compassion, and the strength we find in each other.
After all, the little things we do together time spent watching movies, sharing conversations, and simply being around each other-create meaning in life. The real beauty lies in these simple, everyday moments. I am grateful for these times and the love my parents have given me. They are more than just parents; they are my lifelong teachers, my rock, and my greatest blessing.
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honour your father and mother— which is the first commandment with a promise—so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” – Ephesians 6:1-3
And as your parents, we have been wonderfully blessed with you in our lives. Each day with you is simply wonderful and thank you for being our little/big girl. Love Dad.
